In the Northeast Gallery: The Hari Walner Memorial Exhibit | A Tribute to Hari B. Walner RMQM is pleased to bring a collection of Hari Walner’s quilts to the museum to celebrate her life’s work. Hari was a remarkable quilter, experimenter, teacher, artist, painter, and enjoyed her family. With a background in illustration, and teaching painting and drawing, Hari began designing and making quilts in 1987. She quickly identified that the tight definition of lines that machine quilting offered was much like drawing, a skill she had always enjoyed. She also found that machine quilting was easier when you could quilt in long, unbroken lines, so she co-founded with Gordon Snow (her husband), Beautiful Publications, a publishing house specializing in continuous-line quilting designs. Hari became an internationally recognized teacher of machine quilting.
