Know a woman who deserves recognition for her volunteer efforts, or an innovative woman who is a model for other women striving to make their dreams a reality in politics, government, or the public or private sector? Nominate them for the “Unsung Heroine” award or the “Shattered Glass” award. The winners and nominees will be recognized at the 6th annual Colorado Women’s Day (formerly known as JeffCo International Women’s Day) celebration on May 7, 2021 at Baldoria on the Water in Lakewood, CO. Applications, which are due no later than noon, Friday, March 19, 2021 to Joni Inman, joni@joniinmanconsulting.com can be found at https://www.ixpowerfoundation.org/women-s-day/2021-awards/ The “Shattered Glass Award” will honor women who have achieved new heights in innovation, healthcare, sports, or community impact. Honorees will have broken the glass ceiling in their professional careers, shattered records, cracked a new code of discovery, or otherwise just rocked the world – true agents of positive change. For the “Unsung Heroine” award judges will give preference to volunteer service, service which improves the lives of women and children, service that positively impacts those in most need in the community, or those who inspire others by demonstrating courage through difficult situations. The Unsung Heroine is one who has made quiet but impactful achievements. Recognition of Colorado’s “Unsung Heroine” and the winner of the “Shattered Glass” award are just two of the elements of this popular annual event which complements the global International Women’s Day celebration every year. Other activities for the day include breakout sessions, Women’s Day Marketplace, door prizes, “swag” bags and more! The luncheon’s keynote speaker is Jo Packham, creator and publisher of the WHERE WOMEN CREATE magazines and books. Betsy Wiersma of CampExperience ™ Network will lead two creative workshops. Other speakers for workshops are in the works. Colorado merchants either owned or operated by a woman, or featuring a product or service for women, also have the opportunity to participate in International Women’s Day in a variety of ways. They can insert an item representing their business in the swag bags, procure a table in the “Marketplace” to sell or market their goods or services, or for maximum exposure become a sponsor of the event.
