Today is National Support your Local Chamber of Commerce Day and we are celebrating with a member luncheon event!
Leads Over Luncheon is a ticketed member luncheon event.
Enjoy a great meal, hear from an educational speaker, and connect with fellow members of the Golden Chamber of Commerce. These luncheons occur quarterly.
The topic for October is: "Creating Healthy Workplaces" presented by
Dr. Carol Brown, Deputy Director
Center for Health, Work & Environment | Health LinksTM
Colorado School of Public Health, CU Anschutz Medical Campus
Carol is the deputy director for the Center for Health, Work & Environment, where she works across the center’s many Total Worker Health® initiatives. With over 12 years of experience in developing practical program evaluations, Carol leads the evaluation activities for the center, where she works with faculty and staff to evaluate programs and implement changes based on evaluation results. Carol also directs the Pilot Projects program for the Mountain and Plains Education and Research Center, which awards small grants to researchers and practitioners to fund occupational safety and health projects. She has a PhD in Psychology from the University of Southern California.
The Center for Health, Work & Environment at the Colorado School of Public Health works with businesses across the state of Colorado to create a culture of health, safety, and wellness in their workplace through their program, Health Links. They accomplish this goal by working with businesses to assess their existing health and safety culture, create goals and an action plan unique to each business, and collaborate on an annual basis to achieve those goals. In addition to the assessment and mentorship pieces of Health Links, enrolled businesses are recognized as "Healthy Businesses", and with that recognition comes promotional materials to showcase their commitment to creating a culture of health and wellness in their workplace. Businesses are also in the running for the Governor's Worksite Wellness Award, which is a significant accomplishment. Lastly, partner businesses enter the Health Links network where best practices by industry, materials and tools are available and shared.
