Dinosaur Express Train

  • Share:
Name: Dinosaur Express Train
Date: July 23, 2016
Time: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM MDT
Event Description:
Colorado railroads helped unearth many fossils as railroad tracks were laid. Construction crews often exposed these unusual and fascinating bones as they were digging and laying railroad ties. Trains were then used to transport these ‘stone bones’ to museums around Colorado and throughout the U.S. Ride and discover the Dinosaur Express Train on Saturday, July 23 at the Colorado Railroad Museum from 10:00AM – 4:00PM. Make fresh tracks through prehistory as children sift through sand for fossils, put together dinosaur puzzles, and step into a Stegosaurus costume to imagine what it was like to be a dinosaur! Be greeted by multiple dinosaurs whose skeletons have been found all along the Front Range. And investigate real fossils from the Denver Museum of Nature & Science’s collection. Ride behind a historic steam locomotive, follow the dinosaur tracks around the Museum’s 15-acre rail yard, and listen to the adventurous stories of these prehistoric reptiles during our dinosaur storytime. Dinosaur Express Train is in collaboration with Denver Museum of Nature & Science and the Morrison Natural History Museum. Admission is $5 for children (under 2 free), $15 for adults and $10 for seniors over 60. Thanks to our sponsors: CBS4, Mix 100, 92.5 The Wolf, KOOL 105, OUTFRONT Media and SCFD.
