The Golden Chamber’s Annual Awards is a celebration in recognition of people and businesses that have demonstrated unique vision, innovation, and achievement in support of Greater Golden’s economy, business community, and quality of life.

Pizza Hut, located on South Golden Road, has been a long-standing community business owned and operated by Lorna Crawford. For several years, Pizza Hut has been the gracious host of the South Golden Merchants Meeting and continues to take a leadership role for businesses located along South Golden Road. Pizza Hut serves as a fixture of the Golden Super Cruise and welcomes many to our community during the Super Cruise events. Recently celebrating 35 years of membership with the Golden Chamber of Commerce, Lorna Crawford and her team at Pizza Hut continue to give back to the community and provide exceptional service to locals and visitors. Currently, Lorna Crawford’s South Golden Road Pizza Hut is ranked 17th in the nation among all Pizza Hut locations.
This group supports the community through the many efforts they continue to put forth for others, their bicycle recycle program, and initiatives for elementary and middle schools.
This Award will be presented to Brian Reed for the significant difference he has made in our community by giving his time to help not only our community but also those in need. Brian currently serves as Co-President with Jackie Greiner of the Bell Middle School PTA. His drive to commit so much time came from the desire to help make Bell the best experience for students and immediately jumped in with great energy and interest to this volunteer role. Brian also volunteers for Mitchell Elementary School, Golden Civic Foundation and leads a local adult swim club as well and supporting the Golden Backpack program.
Through the efforts of Dr. Borden, the Golden Young Professionals became involved in the Golden Bike Cruise and provided a supportive with this event. As Chair for GYP, Dr. Borden was instrumental in growing the outreach efforts to attract young professionals to become involved in our community.
Mike’s commitment to the Golden Chamber of Commerce, our members, and our community has placed Mike in the highest Ambassador role, 2018 Chair. His dedication to attend Ribbon Cutting’s, Grand Opening’s, and taking the time to personally welcome businesses and individuals into the Chamber, has led Mike to Ambassador of the Year.
Mines Volunteers includes students, faculty, and often friends & family. For seventeen Saturdays, June-October, Mines Volunteers played a vital role in the success of set-up & break-down of the Golden Farmers Market. Additionally, Mines Volunteers stepped forward to assist with Taste of Golden, Golden Fine Arts Festival, and the Annual Chili Cook-off. Their support extends throughout the community.
During his internship with the Golden Chamber, Ty extended both his time and talents in commitment to our mission. His internship became a blessing to the Chamber, as his hands-on work included assisting our Chamber members, responsibilities with our events, and data entry. As he graduates this year from High School, his professional ethics practiced during his internship represents our future well.
