The story of a war is much more than the recital of facts, battles, strategies, dates, casualties, treaties, etc. No matter the impacts of war upon nations and the world order, the underlying story of a war is its immediate and long lasting impacts on individuals. The impacts are upon the planners and initiators of a war, the combatants in the war, the families of participants, and those who must suffer the privations always attendant to war and its aftermath. Come participate in a book discussion of Testament of Youth by Vera Brittain, a memoir of a young nurse during her service on the Western Front. Presented by the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, Colorado Humanities, and the Colorado World War I Centennial Commission. Free. 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
