Job Description
The Golden Schools Foundation (GSF) seeks a dynamic and visionary individual to lead the foundation in its next phase of growth, impact, and achievement for Golden’s neighborhood elementary, middle, and high schools. The board chairperson will act as Executive Director and be responsible for the integra­tion of GSF’s development and operational elements. Key priorities include: board engagement, oversight of GSF initiatives and programs, and fundraising. The right person will have a passion for community engagement and an interest in local education issues. This is a volunteer position with the potential to grow into a part-time paid position.
GSF currently has an active and engaged Board of Directors with representatives from each of the neighborhood schools. The foundation has programs to disperse funds (enrichment grants, teaching excellence funds, scholarships and mental health supports for all seven articulation schools). Funds are generated via direct donations and the Golden Gallop 5K,10K, Kids Fun Run.
The right candidate will have experience in the following areas:
  • Leadership
Public, nonprofit, or business leadership experience is highly desirable
  • Public Presence
Ability to interact and work effectively with local government, school principals and PTA groups,
Jeffco School District leaders, media, business professionals, and key donors
  • Fundraising
Ability to effectively utilize existing funding and the skills to support the board in establishing new sustainable sources of funding
  • Management
Ability to interact and work effectively on a day to day or week to week basis with GSF board
members and other important stakeholders
