DESCRIPTION:Kids\, get excited\, it is your chance to shine! The first annual Dash at the Splash\, Kid's Triathlon\, is taking place this August! The triathlon\, which consists of swimming\, biking and running\, will be held at the Splash Water Park. This event is sure to provide a fun fitness activity for children to enjoy and a great experience for them to share with their peers as they enter into a new school year. \n\n	The swimming will be contested in the lap pool at Splash\, while the biking and running will take place on paths around the area. Children will be broken down in age groups of 8 and under\, 9 to 10 year olds\, and 11 to 12 year olds. The age category will determine distances in each event that the child will complete. \n\n	Kids bike\, swim and run throughout the summer so it's time to put it all together into one extraordinary fun and fitness filled event. Statistics continually show that childhood obesity is on the rise\, so encourage your youngster to get out and challenge themselves in the kid's triathlon. Start practicing today by taking your child out on a bike ride\, hike\, or play games in one the many parks around town. Splash Aquatic Park has lap lanes that are open daily\, or check out the indoor aquatics facility at the Golden Community Center. Swimming lessons are available as well\; please call 303-384-8143 for more information\, or go online to rec.cityofgolden.net. \n\n	Children can boast their accomplishment with a "Dash at the Splash" t-shirt that they will be given at the event. Register before August 6th and pay only $20\, registration from August 6th to August 13th is $25. There will be no registering after August 13th.
