DESCRIPTION:This month's speaker: Janet Maccubbin\, Affordable Housing Policy Coordinator | City of Golden\n\n\n\nIn Spring 2022\, the City launched a study to assess the current and future housing needs of the City of Golden. Known as the City of Golden Housing Needs and Strategies Assessment\, this study looks at current housing needs for residents\, workforce and students as well as projected needs for this population over the next 10 years.  Additionally\, it recommends strategies which City Council might consider to encourage the development of housing stock to meet the future need. \n\nOn August 16th Council reviewed and provided initial input on the draft version of this report.  On October 11\, 2022\, Council will review a final copy of the report along with input from community stakeholders\, boards and organizations such as the Golden Chamber of Commerce.  A copy of the report and presentation slides can be found on Guiding Golden.  Join the Golden Chamber Community Development Committee meeting on September 7th for an opportunity to provide input on this important study!  \nThis is a hybrid event\, you must register in advance to receive the link if you intend to participate via Zoom.  It is also offered in person at the Golden Visitors Center. Please register in advance regardless of how you plan to attend. \n\n\nFollow the link to sign up to attend. After the presentation we will provide Chamber updates as well as City and business updates. \n\n\n\nThe Community Development Committee is a roundtable group comprised of City\, Chamber\, and businesses that provide monthly updates. This monthly meeting is intended to be a strategic meeting of the business community with a focus on local economic development. This group frequently has outside guest speakers or when circumstances allow\, they take "field trips" to area businesses. \n\n\n\nThe Community Development Committee is open to guests.
