DESCRIPTION:Experience the beauty of the holiday season with a candlelit walk down Washington Avenue in historic Golden\, Colorado. Sing carols with neighbors and friends and marvel as the street is illuminated by thousands of glowing candles and the warmth of the festive\, small-town holiday atmosphere. Many of the shops along Washington Avenue are open and there are hot cider\, cocoa\, and outdoor cafes to enjoy along the way. At the conclusion of the walk there will be entertainment and the "switch" for Golden's 45\,000 holiday lights along Clear Creek and throughout downtown will be flipped\, marking the official start to Golden's holiday season. \n\nAfterward\, stroll along the Clear Creek corridor to enjoy the newly lit holiday lights and stop by the Golden History Museum & Park and the Golden Public Library\, both open late with special activities. At Golden History Park\, enjoy a luminaria walk\, blacksmith demonstrations\, a bonfire\, dancing\, and free cocoa provided by the Golden Lions Club.\n\nEnjoy free shuttle service for the Candlelight Walk to make your evening even smoother. Park at the Splash Lot (3151 Illinois St\, Golden\, CO 80401) and catch a shuttle between 5:00 9:00 p.m. The shuttle will drop you off at the top of the hill\, so you can start your walk with ease\, and pick you up at the bottom when you're ready to head back. \n\nThe walk begins at 6:30 p.m. at Washington Ave. and 15th Street.
